Well, that’s not exactly the news we wanted to hear.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is closing for refurbishment at Magic Kingdom this fall.
Disney has confirmed that the attraction will close beginning November 2, 2026.
And here’s the part that has everyone’s attention: Disney has not announced a reopening date.

The attraction will temporarily close as Disney carries out refurbishment work.
At this point, Disney hasn’t provided many details about exactly what work will be taking place.
We also don’t know how long the refurbishment will last.
So if you’re planning a Magic Kingdom visit after November 2, you’ll want to keep this one in mind.
And It’s Not Just the Ride
Two nearby merchandise locations will also close as part of the refurbishment.
Critter Co-Op and Tiana’s Bayou General will both be affected.
So if you’ve been planning to pick up some Tiana merchandise during a late-fall or winter trip, you may want to shop earlier in your vacation—or keep an eye out for another location carrying the merchandise.
Wait…Didn’t This Ride Just Open?
That’s probably going to be the first question from a lot of Disney fans.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure officially opened at Magic Kingdom in 2024 after replacing Splash Mountain.
So yes, it is still a relatively new attraction.
That makes a major refurbishment announcement feel a little surprising.
Disney attractions can, of course, undergo routine maintenance and refurbishment regardless of their age, particularly when an attraction involves complicated ride systems, water and a whole collection of Audio-Animatronics.
And Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has all three.

That’s the million-dollar question.
Disney hasn’t announced a specific list of changes or repairs.
So we’re not going to pretend we know what’s happening behind those construction walls.
For now, all we know is that the attraction is going down for refurbishment beginning November 2 and that there isn’t a confirmed reopening date.
And honestly, that’s enough reason to pay attention.
Should You Ride It Before November?
If Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is on your must-do list, I’d definitely make a point of riding it before the closure.
That’s especially true if you’re visiting Magic Kingdom in September or October.

Sometimes things need to be repaired.

I’d much rather see Disney take the time to properly maintain an attraction than leave it operating while problems pile up.
But the Mystery Is Interesting
The lack of a reopening date is what makes this particular refurbishment worth watching.
Disney will occasionally announce a closure without immediately providing a return date, particularly when the scope or timing of the work isn’t finalized.
That means we’ll have to wait for Disney to tell us more.

What Should You Do If Tiana’s Is Closed?
If you’re visiting after November 2, don’t panic.
Magic Kingdom still has plenty of attractions to fill your day, including Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain, TRON Lightcycle / Run and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
And if you’re visiting during the holiday season, you’ll also have seasonal entertainment and decorations competing for your attention.
You’ll survive.
