Disney World has apparently decided that fall wasn’t busy enough.

We’ve already got Halloween parties, the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, seasonal decorations, pumpkin everything and enough limited-time merchandise to fill a small storage unit. Naturally, Disney’s next move was to give us a whole new list of things to eat.

And honestly? I’m not mad about it.

Disney just announced a huge lineup of new treats and drinks coming to Walt Disney World this fall, and there is a LOT happening here. We’re talking specialty waffles and pancakes, churros, frozen slushes, milkshakes, specialty beverages and cocktails.

Some of these sound genuinely fantastic. Others sound like someone was standing in a Disney kitchen saying, “Okay, but what if we put one more thing on it?”

Breakfast Is About to Get Very Interesting

If you thought Mickey waffles were already pretty hard to improve upon, Disney would like a word.

Over at Landscape of Flavors at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, guests will be able to try Birthday Cake Mickey Waffles and Birthday Cake Mickey Pancakes. They’re topped with birthday cake custard, cake crumbles, rainbow sprinkles, bacon and sausage.

Because apparently we have reached the point where Mickey waffles need to have their own birthday party.

At Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter, Port Orleans Riverside and Disney’s Pop Century Resort, guests can find Strawberry Mickey Waffles and Strawberry Pancakes served with vanilla custard.

Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort is getting Caramel-Banana Waffles and Pancakes, while Disney’s All-Star Music Resort will offer Fruit Cereal Waffles and Pancakes.

And then there’s Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, where the Candy Bar Waffles and Pancakes are coming in hot with cookie bar pieces, caramel and chocolate sauce.

Look, I’m not saying you should eat dessert for breakfast. I’m just saying Disney appears to have removed the legal obstacles.

Disney Is Doing Some Serious Things to the Churro

Disney’s relationship with the churro has officially entered its experimental phase.

At Sunshine Seasons in EPCOT, the Churro Strawberry Shortcake Sundae combines churro loops with strawberry soft serve, strawberry compote, whipped cream and cake crumble.

That one might be dangerous. In the best possible way.

Over at the Isle of Java in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Churro-misu Cold Brew combines Joffrey’s cold brew with tiramisu cold foam and comes with a churro.

Yes, a cold brew now comes with a churro. We’ve really stopped pretending we’re here for vegetables.

Energy Bytes at Magic Kingdom is getting the Churro Overdrive, featuring cookies-and-cream mini churros with blue sugar and marshmallow.

And if you’re visiting EPCOT, the Mission: SPACE Cart will be offering Family Churros: 21 bite-size churros served with sprinkles and chocolate and caramel dipping sauces.

Twenty-one churros.

Disney has apparently decided that churros now require a serving size.

Then Come the Frozen Drinks

Florida fall is a beautiful thing. The decorations come out, the pumpkins appear and the temperature occasionally remembers that it is supposed to be autumn.

Fortunately, Disney has prepared accordingly.

The Key Lime Dream is a frozen drink made with frozen limeade and key lime, topped with sweet cream and graham cracker crumbs.

You’ll find it at Studio Main Entrance Coffee at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Pinocchio Village Haus at Magic Kingdom, Regal Eagle Smokehouse Bar at EPCOT and Beaches Pool Bar & Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

There are also plenty of other frozen creations making their way around the resort featuring flavors like peach, lemon, vanilla, passion fruit, orange and guava.

Basically, Disney looked at the Florida heat and said, “Fine. We’ll make it drinkable.”

And Yes, There Are Milkshakes

Because no Disney food announcement would be complete without something involving an unreasonable amount of sugar.

The fall lineup includes specialty milkshakes and frozen creations, including the Steamboat Willie Milkshake and a S’mores Gelato Milkshake.

And because Disney knows its audience, there are plenty of specialty beverages and cocktails mixed in as well.

Which means one person in your party can be debating whether to get a Mickey waffle, another can be holding a churro the size of their forearm and someone else can be standing there with a frozen cocktail wondering how exactly the family ended up here.

Honestly, sometimes that’s the real Disney vacation.

The Fall Food I’m Actually Watching

There are a lot of choices in this announcement, but a few immediately jumped out at me.

The Churro Strawberry Shortcake Sundae sounds like exactly the kind of ridiculous Disney snack that you see once, think about for three days and eventually convince yourself you absolutely need.

The Churro-misu Cold Brew is another one I’m watching closely. Coffee plus tiramisu plus a churro feels less like a beverage and more like Disney testing the limits of what we’re willing to call breakfast.

And don’t overlook the resort waffles and pancakes. If you’re staying at one of the value resorts, these new breakfast options could be a fun way to start a park day without having to make breakfast another complicated reservation on the itinerary.

Fall at Disney World Just Got a Lot Sweeter

What I like about this particular food announcement is that Disney isn’t putting everything in one location and calling it a seasonal menu.

These new treats are spread across the parks and resorts, which means you’ll have plenty of opportunities to stumble across something new while you’re already out exploring.

And let’s be honest: that’s one of the best parts of Disney World.

You can start the morning thinking you’re just going to grab a quick breakfast, somehow end up with birthday cake Mickey waffles, encounter a churro before noon, and then spend the afternoon carrying around a frozen drink because Florida has apparently decided it’s still July.

That’s fall at Disney World in 2026.

And I have a feeling my snack budget is not going to survive it.

If you’ve visited the Walt Disney World website recently and thought, “Wait…this looks different,” you’re not imagining things.

Disney World has rolled out a new look for its website, with a cleaner design, simplified navigation, and some changes to how guests find information while planning their vacations.

And considering how much of the Disney vacation-planning process happens online these days, this is actually a pretty significant change.

The Walt Disney World Website Has a New Look

The redesigned website began rolling out August 20, bringing a refreshed homepage and a slimmer navigation bar.

The top navigation has been simplified into four main categories, making it easier to get to the information guests are looking for.

Hotels, tickets, parks, dining, and other planning information are still there. They just aren’t arranged exactly the way longtime Disney World website users are accustomed to seeing them.

Because apparently even the Disney website needs a refurbishment every once in a while.

Finding the Parks Is a Little Different

The new navigation gives each of the four theme parks its own section, along with access to park hours and schedules.

The Things to Do section has also been reorganized.

Guests can find attractions and entertainment, character experiences, events and tours, and shops through the updated menus.

There’s also a More to Explore section that includes Disney Springs and the latest park merchandise.

Tickets and Vacation Planning Got Their Own Sections

The updated Tickets & Passes section brings together information about theme park tickets, Annual Passes, Lightning Lane, photo packages, and other extras.

The Places to Stay section focuses on Disney Resort hotels, while dining information has its own dedicated section.

In other words, Disney is trying to make the website a little more intuitive for someone who doesn’t already know where everything lives.

The Homepage Is More Focused on Planning

The redesigned homepage now puts more emphasis on helping guests figure out what they actually need to do next.

Sections include Explore Walt Disney World Resort, Make Plans, and Get Ready for Your Visit.

There is also a Special Offers section, which can display different offers depending on factors such as where you live or whether you’re an Annual Passholder.

So if the website looks a little different for you than it does for someone else, that may not necessarily be your imagination either.

Is This Just a Website Redesign?

That’s the interesting part.

The changes appear to be more than Disney simply giving the website a fresh coat of digital paint.

Disney has been working toward broader changes to its digital vacation-planning experience, and this new website design appears to be an early visible piece of that larger effort.

For guests, the goal is pretty obvious: make it easier to find information and make plans without clicking through approximately 47 menus to figure out when Magic Kingdom closes.

What About the My Disney Experience App?

The website redesign doesn’t mean the My Disney Experience app has suddenly disappeared.

Guests will still use the app for many of the things they already rely on during their vacations, including park planning, reservations, Lightning Lane and other in-park features.

The website remains an important part of the vacation-planning process, particularly for guests who prefer to research their trip on a larger screen.

Disney World Is Giving Its Digital Experience a Refurbishment

We’ve gotten pretty used to seeing Disney refurbish attractions, restaurants, resorts and entire areas of the theme parks.

Now the website is getting its turn.

And honestly, it was probably overdue.

Walt Disney World has become an increasingly complicated vacation to plan, with tickets, resorts, dining reservations, Lightning Lane, special events, transportation and dozens of other decisions competing for your attention.

If Disney can make that process easier to navigate, I’m all for it.

So Don’t Panic If Disney.com Looks Different

If you head over to the Walt Disney World website and everything looks slightly unfamiliar, don’t worry.

You didn’t accidentally end up on the wrong website.

Disney just gave its digital front door a makeover.

And if you’ve been using the site for years, there may be a tiny learning curve while you figure out where everything moved.

Because apparently the first step in planning a Disney vacation is now learning how to navigate the Disney website again.

Welcome to the refurbishment, folks.

If you’re headed to Walt Disney World today, August 12, I have some excellent news:

Florida is still Florida.

And by “Florida,” I mean the National Weather Service has a heat advisory in effect for the Walt Disney World area, with the heat index expected to reach around 112 degrees today. The advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.

So if your Disney vacation itinerary currently says something like:

8:00 a.m. — Magic Kingdom
9:00 a.m. — Walk everywhere really fast
12:00 p.m. — Continue walking because we paid a lot for this trip

…we need to have a little chat.

It May Not Feel Like 100 Degrees. It Could Feel Much Worse.

The important number today isn’t simply the air temperature.

It’s the heat index, which factors in humidity to estimate how hot it actually feels to your body.

And anyone who has spent five minutes standing on hot pavement in Central Florida during August knows that “100 degrees” doesn’t adequately describe the experience.

A heat index around 112 degrees is serious heat.

That means guests need to think differently about how they spend their park day.

Disney World Isn’t Going Anywhere

This is where I think people sometimes get themselves into trouble.

They’ve spent months planning the trip. They’ve booked the hotel. They’ve bought the tickets. They’ve made dining reservations. They’ve created an itinerary that would make a military logistics officer nervous.

So when the weather is brutal, they think:

“We’re going anyway.”

And that’s fine.

You absolutely can visit Walt Disney World during hot weather.

You just shouldn’t pretend your body didn’t get the memo.

Take the Break

One of the best things you can do on an extremely hot Disney day is build breaks into your schedule before you need one.

Don’t wait until you’re dizzy, nauseated, exhausted or feeling awful before deciding you should probably sit down somewhere with air conditioning.

By then, you’ve already pushed too far.

Instead, consider taking a longer indoor break around the hottest part of the afternoon.

Go to lunch.

See a show.

Ride an attraction with an indoor queue.

Browse the shops.

Return to your resort.

Take a nap.

Get in the pool.

Sit in the lobby and drink something cold.

I promise Mickey will still be there when you come back.

Hydration Is Not Optional

Drink water throughout the day rather than waiting until you’re thirsty.

And if you’re sweating heavily, remember that you’re losing more than water.

Electrolytes can be helpful, particularly during prolonged periods outside.

Also, don’t underestimate how quickly you can become dehydrated when you’re walking around a theme park.

You might not notice how much you’re sweating because you’re busy thinking about whether you can get on Guardians of the Galaxy before your Lightning Lane expires.

Meanwhile, your body is filing a formal complaint.

Find Air Conditioning Whenever You Can

Disney World has plenty of attractions and locations where you can get out of the heat.

Use them.

This is not the day to prove that you can spend seven consecutive hours outdoors.

Indoor attractions, restaurants, shops and shows can give you valuable time to cool down.

Even a 20- or 30-minute break in air conditioning can make a huge difference in how you feel later.

And here’s another little trick:

Don’t underestimate the value of a slower pace.

You don’t have to power-walk from one side of EPCOT to the other because your next reservation starts in 27 minutes.

Sometimes the best Disney strategy is accepting that you’re going to be five minutes late.

Pay Attention to Your Body

Heat exhaustion can develop when your body can’t cool itself effectively.

Watch for symptoms such as heavy sweating, weakness, dizziness, headache, nausea and feeling unusually tired or unwell.

If you or someone you’re traveling with develops serious symptoms, confusion, loss of consciousness or other signs of a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

Don’t try to “walk it off.”

Disney World is not a competition.

There is no prize for being the person who survives the longest without sitting down.

What Should You Do at Disney World During Extreme Heat?

Here’s my basic strategy:

Morning:
Get outside and enjoy the parks while it’s comparatively more manageable.

Late morning:
Stay hydrated and start mixing in indoor attractions.

Afternoon:
Slow down. Eat lunch. Find air conditioning. Take a resort break if possible.

Evening:
If conditions improve, head back outside and enjoy the parks after the worst heat has passed.

And if you’re visiting today specifically, keep an eye on current weather conditions throughout the day.

Don’t Let the Florida Heat Ruin Your Disney Day

A Disney vacation shouldn’t require you to emerge from Magic Kingdom looking like you’ve just crossed the Sahara Desert on foot.

The heat advisory today is a reminder that Florida summer isn’t just “a little warm.” With the heat index potentially reaching 112 degrees, guests need to take the conditions seriously.

You can absolutely have a fantastic Disney day in hot weather.

Just remember that taking a break isn’t wasting your Disney vacation.

Sometimes sitting in an air-conditioned room drinking a giant cup of something cold is the most magical attraction in the park.
